Do you love a great Mai Tai? Do you think you can only get a good one at a restaurant? Think again! This is a fantastic and hard to find Mai Tai cocktail recipe you can make for a party or just make a jug to have in the refrigerator for a few weekends.

If you need to substitute anything, I only recommend substituting a different rum brand. You will need both light and dark rum. The Timmy’ sour mix is a key ingredient and using a pre-made mix or another brand won’t result in the same great taste!
This is made in a gallon jug.

Mai Tai
Ingredients
1 Gallon Mai Tai Recipe
- 1 floater Myers Dark Rum
- one 750 ml Ron Virgin or Cruzan Dark Rum 3 Cups
- 16 oz Ron Virgin or Cruzan Light Rum 2 Cups
- 16 oz Bols Orange Curacao (Not dry orange) 2 Cups
- 8 oz Fee’s Brothers Orgeat optional: make your own: see recipe below (1 Cup)
- 3 Splashes Worcestershire Added to Orgeat
- 6 Second Pour(using a liquor pourer) Fee’s Brothers Golden Passion Fruit Syrup or Goya Passion Fruit Substitute: LaCena Passion Fruit Syrup
- 1/2 Bag Timmy’s Dry Powder Sour Mix 12 oz. (1 1/2 Cups) Add 64 oz or 8 Cups Water and shake well
- 6 oz Orange Juice Add to Sour Mix
- 6 oz Pineapple Juice Add to Sour Mix
- Pineapple Chunks
- Maraschino Cherries
- Fresh Lime Wedges Quartered and Halved
Instructions
- Add all liquor to a gallon jug (preferably with an air tight screw top). Mix Orgeat with Worcestershire and add to jug.Mix Sour Mix Powder and Water in a second container with a screw top. Shake, Shake, Shake! Then add OJ and Pineapple Juice to it and shake again! Then add to gallon jug to fill.Shake and then pour into a tall glass with ice. Add a floater of Myers Dark Rum (i.e. just top the drink with a little dark rum).Garnish with pineapple chunks and maraschino cherries and a smidge of fresh lime juice. An umbrella straw will add a nice touch!If you want to make homemade Orgeat. Recipe: 1/2 C Sugar, 1/2 C Boiling Water; dissolve sugar and remove from heat. Add 1/2 tsp Almond Extract and 1/4 tsp Coconut Extract.

- 1/2 Cup (4 oz.) Orgeat (2 splashes Worcestershire)
- 1 oz. (3 second pour) Passion Fruit
- 12 Tbsp (6 oz.) Timmy’s Sweet & Sour Mix Powder (Mix with 4 Cups Water)
- 3 oz. Orange Juice & 3 oz. Pineapple Juice mixed into Timmy’s
- Follow instructions above! Don’t forget the Myers Dark Rum floater!
- 6 oz. Dark Rum
- 1/2 Cup (4 oz.) Light Rum
- 1/2 Cup (4 oz.) Bols Orange Curacao
- 2 oz. Orgeat (2 splashes Worcestershire)
- 1/2 oz. (2 second pour) Passion Fruit
- 6 Tbsp (3 oz.) Timmy’s Sweet & Sour Mix Powder (Mix with 2 Cups Water)
- 1/2 oz. Orange Juice & 1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice mixed into Timmy’s
- Follow instructions above! Don’t forget the Myers Dark Rum floater!
