There are always so many things to learn about Facebook. Here are just a few helpful details that you may or may not already know. Either way, there are many people out there who don’t know. Feel free to share your comments on other Facebook tips and tricks and then share them with people you know to help someone else out.

How do I edit or delete a Facebook post or a comment I made?

This is very easy to accomplish. Directly to the right of your post, there are three dots … They are not always visible depending on the method you are using to view Facebook. Simply touch to the right of your post or comment, select the three dots… and select what you want to do.

How to make updates to your posts
How to make updates to your comments Note If someone else comments on your post and you find it offensive you can use this method to delete others comments if it is on YOUR post

How do I use check-in on Facebook but not post it until I am home?

I like to use the check-in functionality but for security and privacy reasons, I don’t want people to know I am not home (or away on vacation). You can do it! It is quite simple. Check-in as Only Me and post. When you get home change the post to Public or Friends or whatever you prefer. Note: It will show as the time you that you actually posted it.

Check in Type your comments just remember to change you News Feed to Only Me and then Post

Pin this for later! Sharing is caring; share this with all of your friends on Facebook and Twitter too!

Great tips! I love Facebook. I don’t know why people complain about it. I think social media is what you make it to be.

I have never used the check-in feature, but I’m glad to know that you can add it after you get home. Thanks for the pointers!

The check-in tip is helpful! I like it to say when I was actually there, but I always hold off for that reason! Thanks.

Thanks for the tip. I’m learning to actually look at the 3 dots. Seems to be the trend these non descript dots.

Great tips, one of my favorites is the turn on notifications for a post. So if there’s a specific thread I want to follow I don’t have to leave a comment like “following” lol Thanks for this 🙂

Great idea about posting your checkin’s later! I usually do it because I don’t want the people I’m with to think I’m distracted and not paying attention to them, but I have to then search for the place when I’m no longer nearby (harder than you might think). Using your suggestion is way easier!

Exactly! So the date stamp stays and doesn’t change so people know it isn’t current!
